Last Saturday night a new series started called younique…As the talk started, I heard how God created us all to be unique in our own way. Making me special in a good way!
Through the talk I realized that even though I am created unique in God’s image, I have invested some of my time seeing and believing in a distorted image of myself. However, that is not who God created me to see myself as or be.
When the evening was over, what I left with was how I need to rest in God’s word spoken over me.
What you continually feed on is in your mind, and eventually it gets into your heart and comes out of your mouth when you speak. You can speak either blessing or cursing, the positive or the negative, faith or fear.

Below are the beatitudes blessing’s spoken from Jesus, rest in these words spoken over you.

1Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him,
2and he began to teach them saying:
3"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Blessings,

Suzanne

Mercy Street Couples Ministry Offers:
In response to the questionnaire interests from the Mercy Street Couples Ministry retreat, Nancy and Hugh Wilfong will be offering their “What Happens When Couples Pray Together and Other Spiritual Disciplines” workshop and small group experience. It will be a seven week course, starting Tuesday, May 11, 2010 and continuing on Tuesdays through June 22, 2010.

It will be held in their home at 710 Saddlewood Lane, starting each Tuesday at 6:30 and lasting approximately 2 hours. In these sessions Nancy and Hugh will explore such topics as couples praying together in various ways (intercessory prayer, prayers of thanksgiving, use of couples altar, spiritual date nights and Lectio Divina) and will share their experiences as a couple in their prayer journey. During the sessions, each couple will be afforded private time together to experience the topic as a couple.

Because of the design of the program, these sessions are limited to 6-8 couples. If you would like to join Nancy and Hugh, or simply have questions about the program, feel free to contact Vikki Smedley at 281-413-7712 or vikkimark@yahoo.com.
